The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) is pleased to announce the commencement of the NOUN Scholarship Essay Competition on Open & Distance Learning (ODL). Interested participants are required to submit an electronic copy of their essays to scholarship@noun.edu.ng on or before Friday, 31st January 2023

. Participants must also ensure that a hard copy of their essays is submitted to the nearest NOUN Study Center on or before Friday, 31st January 2023

NOUN Essay Competition Prizes

The categories of awards are as follows for undergraduate students and Postgraduate students, respectively:

PRIZES AWARDS
Overall Best Essay A certificate and cash prize of N50,000.00
2nd Place Position A certificate and cash prize of N30,000.00
3rd Place Position A certificate and cash prize of N20,000.00
Best Essay in a Faculty A certificate and cash prize of N20,000.00

Prizes shall be announced and given at a convocation.

How to Enter NOUN Essay Competition

  • Participation is limited to only final year students of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, respectively, in the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
  • Essays must be within 1,500 – 2,000 words.
  • Entries are to be submitted via e-mail to: vcessays@noun.edu.ng with the subject “2022 Vice-Chancellor’s Essay Competition“, for this year’s event.
  • All Essays must be submitted on or before 12am on 31st January 2023.
  • Winning entries shall be notified of their success by 28th February 2023.

Submitting your NOUN essay is easy. All you need to do is follow the instructions on the official NOUN website.
