As of right now, we’re only getting limited details on what to expect from Realme’s new U1 series of smartphones. We can confirm it will come in two models: one with a 64-bit Snapdragon 660 SoC, and another with an unknown octacore processor (likely a MediaTek Helio P60 or Helio P90). There’s no word yet if we can expect more models down the line—or how much RAM or storage these devices will offer. All we know is that both phones will sport displays around 6 inches with a Full HD+ resolution.

What’s in a name?
After a TENAA certification was revealed yesterday with some juicy information about a new Realme model named ‘Narzo’, not much was known about it. Today, however, we have a lot more insight into what to expect from this phone. The device is officially called ‘Realme Narzo 50A Prime’ – that’s basically just Narzo with Prime added to it. The package includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage which can be expanded using microSD cards up to 256GB in size. Camera-wise, there’s a dual 16MP+2MP rear setup while up front there’s an 8MP camera. A 4000mAh battery should provide enough juice for moderate usage but no fast charging capabilities are present (probably because of the huge 5G modem). The phone also comes with Android 9 Pie pre-installed and support for dual SIMs. It measures at 158x74x8mm but does come with IP68 water resistance certification.
Is The Realme phone good value?
Smartphone prices have fallen in recent years as companies compete for dominance. At $199, it’s hard to beat what you get with Realme’s budget-friendly midrange phone. The 48MP camera is a nice step up from many other phones in its price range—and while its 8GB of internal storage isn’t ideal, it can be expanded via MicroSD card slot. Overall, we think the $199 price tag makes it a good value. That said, there are some aspects that could use some work. For example, even though the phone has a whopping 4GB of RAM, which should make multitasking smooth, it lagged when opening large apps like Google Maps or Chrome. If your main concern is battery life then this device should not be your first choice. In our video looping test where we played YouTube videos at half brightness until the battery ran out at 0%, it lasted only 3 hours and 20 minutes–less than an hour longer than some devices that cost less than half as much.

Specification and Overview of the Realme Narzo 50A
The Realme 50A is a cheap smartphone that’s worth more than its price. The first thing you notice about it is how well built it feels. It has a matte finish that helps give it a sturdy feel, and the back cover has a unique design made up of two circles divided by two lines – which are said to resemble DNA strands. The phone isn’t just built for appearances though; under its hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 450 chipset with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). There’s also a 13MP f/2.2 main camera as well as an 8MP f/2.0 selfie snapper on board… The most noteworthy feature of this device is perhaps its battery life – the 4900mAh pack will keep your phone going all day long without needing a charge. Plus, it supports fast charging so you can top up when necessary!
The Realme Narzo 50A Prime features include: •Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 450 chipset •3GB of RAM •32GB of Internal Storage (up to 128 GB) •13MP f/2.2 Main Camera •8MP f/2.0 Selfie Snapper
•4900 mAh Battery Life
•Fast Charging Support •Qi Wireless Charging
•Gorilla Glass 5
The dimensions of the phone are 157 x 76 x 8.3mm and it weighs 190g.
Design and Build Quality of the Realme Narzo 50A
The phone has a plastic unibody design with a glossy finish that looks great, but also attracts smudges. It also feels very light in hand. The back does have some antenna lines but they don’t stand out much when looking at them from different angles. However, there is no notch present on top so you do get an 18:9 aspect ratio display with thin bezels for immersive viewing experience which is decent enough given its price point.
Screen Quality & Performance of the Realme Narzo 50A
The screen is one of those things that most smartphone buyers focus on first. Its display plays a huge role in how much you like your phone. The Realme Narzo has a Full HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio. The LCD panel has an eye-popping resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels with a pixel density of 403ppi, which is great for multimedia consumption. When it comes to responsiveness, we found little to complain about – there’s virtually no delay between tap and response. The only thing I noticed was some very minor lag when scrolling through apps.
This Android 9 Pie device also features a six-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and 4GB RAM, which ensures strong performance across games and demanding apps. There’s 64GB storage onboard too, but if that’s not enough space for you then expandable storage via microSD card up to 256GB can be added too.
Battery Life & Charging Time of the Realme Narzo 50A
The Realme Narzo 50A Prime’s 3400mAh battery should last for roughly one day of use. It takes about two hours to charge from 0 to 100 percent. The charging adapter is not included with the device, so you’ll need to buy your own separately. All ports are located at the bottom of the phone: a USB-C port that’s used for charging and data transfer, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD card slot (unfortunately, it only supports cards up to 256GB).
Cameras – Front vs Back
Both cameras are 12 MP which is great for photography enthusiasts. The back camera of both phones comes with a f/1.8 aperture for awesome portrait shots. It also comes with autofocus and an LED flash. The front-facing camera has a f/2.0 aperture with support for AI face unlock and selfies in low light condition as well.
Bottom Line – Is it worth it?
The Realme Narzo 50A Prime offers a whole host of features for a very reasonable price. While it’s no smartphone powerhouse, it has all the basics covered without stretching your budget. If you’re in need of an entry-level phone that won’t drain your bank account, consider picking up one of these for yourself.
